Our client is a progressive and fast growing telecommunications player. Based in County Kerry, they have an immediate requirement for Telecoms SW Engineers. These are permanent positions, offering excellent base salary, full and generous benefits package, on-going training and genuine career prospects in a challenging and rewarding work environment.
Role:
You will enjoy working as part of a dynamic and innovative team responsible for the development of service critical components for the complex mission critical telecoms systems. You will be involved in the full software development lifecycle of complex telecoms (GSM/GPRS/UMTS) software, from concept through to delivery to end customer. This is a road role and will include requirements definition, functional and design specification development and mentoring. You will develop code, develop and execute Unit, Integration and System-Level test plans and you will be responsible for estimation, planning and execution to agreed quality standards. Good communication skills are required.
Skills and Experience required:
With a third level qualification (in Electronic Engineering or Computer Science) you have a real desire to further your career in the exciting area of telecommunications. You will have several yrs experience of C/C++ programming, at the application level. Expertise in IP Networking with a good level of knowledge of Linux OS kernel and driver development is also desirable.
As my client is a telecoms company, previous work experience in Telecom Standards and Protocols is also beneficial for this role (for example SS7, GSM, ABIS/A interface protocols, GPRS, 3G RANAP & Node B interface protocols, MAP, SIGTRAN, Voice Codecs and VoIP protocols ASN1, TDMA, SMSC protocols, Camel). Experience of Telecoms stack development or of scripting would also be advantageous.
