Our client, an International Reinsurance organisation are currently seeking a Treaty Reinsurance Underwriter to join their team in the Dublin.

The successful candidate will join an established team with international status.

The main duties and responsibilities of the role include:

- Negotiate and discuss treaty terms and conditions

- Underwriting and quoting new and renewal treaties in consultation with Reinsurance Manager

- Participate in client, broker and third party meetings

- Marketing activities in consultation with Reinsurance Manager

- To review reinsurance slips, wordings and other customary documents relating to the inward reinsurance treaties

- Prepare risk review reports for internal purposes

- Contribute to companys forecasting and budgeting processes

- Report to senior management on underwriting related issues

- To prepare basic data for portfolio analysis

- To maintain underwriting procedure

- To prepare renewal information, slips, wordings, etc. for retro treaties

- Handle inquiries from ceding companies, brokers and reinsurers

- To manage qualifications for ceding companies, brokers and reinsurers

- Entering Treaty information into IT system

- To review claims

- To manage claims records

- To assist data entry for outstanding loss reserve into IT System

- To check relevant items in monthly Operation Check List


- The ideal candidate will possess the following:

- 5-10 years prior experience as a treaty reinsurance underwriter

- A sound understanding of accounting and regulatory specifics is required

- Excellent analytical skills

- Good communication and interpersonal skills (team player)

- Ability to work on own initiative and willingness to take responsibility

- Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft-Office products, especially Excel

- Willingness to travel
