The role

This role involves the creation of a Fund Accounting Control Team, currently comprised of the EMS oversight team and the Controls team (responsible for NAV performance review across the bank). Additionally the individual will be responsible for working with various project management teams in order to progress open projects for the Fund Accounting Support team (inclusive of the functions of Reconciliation & Control, Derivative Support and Trade Capture Management)

Responsibilities

· Establish the Fund Accounting Control team

· Establish the model and tracking mechanism to compare fund performance to relevant indexes ensure it is captured in one oversight model

· Establish the model and tracking mechanism to compare share class performance/deviation and ensure it is captured in one oversight model.

· Establish the model and tracking mechanism to compare Money Market Yields to relevant indexes

· Provide operational support for the projects resulting from the Fund Accounting Support team.

· Ensure the operational requirements are communicated to the project and are championed through to resolution

· Become fully familiar with the Fund Accounting Support Teams (Reconciliation & Control, Derivative Support and Trade Capture Management) in order to be able to suggest operational efficiencies

· Ensure a good relationship is maintained between the Fund Accounting Support Team and the Valuations Teams

- Quality and risk control: Assess daily operations ensuring no material errors or audit issues arises by reporting and proactively addressing potential risk areas.

Skills/Knowledge

  • Essential skills: Team management skills (7-10 years experience)
  • Extensive knowledge of asset and cash reconciliations, trade capture and complex derivitives
  • Comprehensive working knowledge of all aspects of the NAV calculation process.
  • Proven track record in managing fund accounting teams
