Environmental Laboratory Technician

Our client a leading manufacturing facility in Waterford currently have a requirement for a Degree qualified Laboratory Technician to join their facility on a permanent basis.

This a new position within the groiup & reports into the head of Quality.

Hours: Monday to Thursday - 08.00am - 16.30, Friday 08.00am - 15.30pm

The Role :
To carry out product sampling and testing in accordance with required quality standards and conduct miscellaneous environmental sampling and monitoring to ensure compliance with site IPPC licence.

Quality

· Conduct product quality testing in accordance with required quality standards.

· Sampling and cutting of test pieces using table saw.

· Assist with quality process testing when required.

· Calibration of laboratory equipment.

· Maintain required records.

· Supervise tanker unloading when required.

· Assist Quality Leadman when required.

· Participate in research and development activities and process investigation studies.

Environmental:

· COD and water testing.

· Sampling of surface water, waste water, ambient dust and waste as required.

· Carry out dust, spill kit, bund checks as required.

· Calibration of pH/conductivity.

Requirements:

· Degree level Science/Technical qualification.

· Good analytical and laboratory skills.

· Full understanding of quality standards, SOP's, safety policies and Codes of Practice.

· Be proficient in use of Microsoft word and excel.

· High attention to detail

· Self-motivated, good communication and interpersonal skills.
