Electronics Marketing Engineer (Limerick)
Our client sells products to a diverse range of customers for use in applications including industrial control, medical monitoring, test equipment/instrumentation, communications infrastructure and automotive systems.
Products include switches, multiplexers, fault protected switches, MEMS switches, channel protectors and cross point switches.
To further grow their business they have asked us to recruit a Marketing Engineer for a role within the Switch/Mux group based in Limerick.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the development of key product groups within the overall product line. Working with key customers to build relationships and application understanding in key market segments the marketing engineer will be responsible for establishing the strategic direction for their particular products. In particular this will involve driving definition of product and technology roadmaps as well as developing appropriate investment plans.
In addition the marketing engineer will have a commercial responsibility with focus on revenue and gross margin targets. The candidate will be required to manage the marketing mix for their products including pricing strategy for both new and existing products, product promotion and MARCOM planning, and sales channel support to ensure appropriate return on investment and revenue growth targets are achieved.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT
In conjunction with other team members, produce product roadmaps based on customer/market input
Segment and understand the future product needs of specific markets and identify product development opportunities in new markets.
COMPETITIVE/MARKET ENVIRONMENT
Understand the distribution process and all issues associated with product marketing in the channel.
Analyse competitive offering and identify investments levels or changes in strategy.
COMMERCIAL/BUSINESS
Revenue and Gross Margin objectives for product portfolio
New product sales targets for product portfolio
Bookings and Sales analysis and reporting
Marcom/merchandising planning
REQUIREMENTS
Technical and analytical skills to translate customer requirements into product definitions
An engineering degree or equivalent with at least 4 to 5 years experience in a related technical discipline. A marketing or business qualification would be beneficial but not a requirement.
As the role has an international aspect, travel will be required.
An aptitude and understanding for business issues with strong communication skills
