The successful candidate will lead the effort to evolve our international clients data strategy to meet future business requirements and in doing so lead to a consolidation and specialisation within their data platform. They will be the key technical resource supporting our Data Steering Committee. In developing and maintaining the data strategy, they will focus on data modelling/retention/growth/quality/governance.
Candidates must show a strong passion to drive data strategy with a clear understanding of their business needs and proven ability to interact with senior management within an organisation. They must demonstrate advanced leadership skills on the product and technology front with a proven track record of success. The successful candidate will report to the Director of Database Systems.
Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
• Develop the enterprise data model and work closely with the Business including Player Marketing and Business Intelligence groups to implement projects within the model
• Develop key aspects of the information architecture, including logical/physical data models, data flow diagrams and metadata strategy
• Doing the modeling for the most complex projects and providing oversight and guidance on other projects
• Tasked to write standards, processes or conduct in-depth data analysis.
• Socialize on a recurring basis, the target architecture along with standards and policies
• Demonstrate solid understanding of the business and close alignment to stakeholder needs
• Guide Data Management direction at both the strategic and tactical levels
Skills/Experience Required:
• 8+ years defining and maintaining logical data models, physical data models, data standards, naming conventions, primary key guidelines, and data flow diagrams
• 8+ years architecting very large (10's terabytes) data intensive solutions
• Solid understanding of metadata management best practices with experience implementing or operating a metadata repository is highly desire
• Previous Experience with end to end data warehouse design highly desirable including Data Modeling to ETL to Data Design to BI
• Experience of implementing Data Quality/Governance initiatives
• Strong leadership skills including resource management, project estimation, and project management tools
• Ability to analyze and understand complex problems
• Excellent, proven written and verbal communication skills required
• Excellent, collaboration, influence and leadership skills required
• Highly organized, self motivated, pro-active, and able to plan
• Minimum of a B.S in Computer Science or related field
• Detailed knowledge of poker a definite plus
