Our Client, a significant high street fashion retailer now require applications for the role of Merchandise Manager.

This role requires significant experience in Fashion Merchadise Control

Working with the Buying Team in planning forward departmental budgets, agreeing the 'plan' and monitoring its implementation.


Following the life cycle of each style through-

Concepts
  • Confirm sample buying budget
Planning

• Assist buyer in agreement of graded option-buying plan

• Plan weekly option intake plan rolling to a weekly departmental total

• Assist Buyer in writing shopping list agreeing suppliers, quantities, cost retail, margin and option delivery plan

Processing

• Supervise inputting of all order

• Supervise amendment of order

• Monitor commitments on a weekly basis and ensure that the 'plan' is at all times adhered to.

• Monitor critical paths with Buyer to ensure all relevant dates are met

Logistics

• Approve shipment dates

• Liase with shipping Dept from Port to store

Allocation and Replenishment

• Supervise stock allocation ensuring the use of allocation tables and specific store requirements

• Supervise availability and re-allocation

• Supervise cut backs based on overcalls

• Manage supplier and warehouse balances

• Manage branch stocks to their optimum level



Sales



• Track option weekly sales against projections and advise buyer/supplier as to performance and take appropriate action

• Monitor forward sales and stock position with the buyer by ensuring the full use of weekly sales and stock projections


Skills required

• Ideal candidate will have a proven track record in a similar role with a large retailer

• Must be a strong analytical thinker and have the ability to anticipate and the presence of mind to act

• Must be capable of handling multiple projects and adapting to changing priorities

• Strong computer and spreadsheet skills are essential
