Mechanical CAD Technician with at least 2 years experience is urgently required for a manufactuirng company in Cork
Role:
* Provide support to R&D, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality and Document Control personnel for the generation and maintenance of engineering drawings and specifications for finished products, components, raw materials, sub assemblies, jigs/fixtures and assembly aids.
* Perform extensive engineering related computations. Prepare CAD drawings, layouts and estimates based upon calculations made by engineers. Check drawing calculations and tolerances. Develop or prepare schematics from designs made by others and make recommendations as necessary.
* Will be required to comply with documentation and Computer Aided Design (CAD) procedures for the creation, maintenance and control of all product related documentation including engineering drawings, engineering specifications and graphic artwork.
* May be required to develop and maintain CAD related procedures.
* Install and maintain new software revision levels for Pro Engineer.
* Will submit periodic reports on assigned topics appropriate personnel.
* Will execute good work flow management and process drafting requirements in order of priority and reasonable lead-time.
Skills:
* Certificate or Diploma in Mechanical, Production or Manufacturing Engineering or a Toolmaking qualification. Candidates with relevant technician level or CAD experience will also be considered.
* A working knowledge of Pro Engineer or another High Level CAD system is required.
* Ability to visualize 2D and 3D CAD component geometry.
* Must be able to read, interpret and generate complex engineering drawings and have a good understanding of geometrical dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
* Advanced computer hardware/software skills (Word, Excel)
* Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills.
* Must be able to plan, organize, and implement multiple concurrent tasks and projects.
* Must be able to routinely make decisions which effect immediate operations.
* Must be able to observe and correct minute inconsistencies (e.g. in the printed word, technical drawings/tolerances, product appearance, etc.).
* Demonstrated a high level of mechanical/mathematical skills.
* Must be able to complete detailed documentation accurately.
