Our client is a leading specialist hi-tech engineering firm in Co Clare. Due to ongoing expansion they have retained CPL to assist in the appointment of an Electronics Design Engineer. This is a permanent role working as a key member of a small engineering design group.
Role:
This is a broad role covering all aspects of product development electronic design, software, mechanics, enclosures, and user ergonomics. Reporting to the Engineering Manager you will be responsible for the specification and design of a very wide variety of electronic products, from requirements definition through circuit design, PCB layout, supplier management, software development, product performance verification, and production launch. The successful candidate will be involved in all stages of the design process, as each engineer in the team works on all stages of the product development cycle.
Required Skills/Experience:
The successful candidate will have a degree in electronic engineering with circa 7 12 yrs experience in the development of analog and digital circuits, utilising embedded microprocessors, including software programming in C and assembly languages.
You should have the electronic design experience to bring a product from initial concept to full production component knowledge, as the successful candidate will be fully involved in all stages of the design process, as each engineer works on all stages themselves - layout, circuit design, and test.
With competent analog skills, you should be capable of following a schematic diagram e.g. basic power component symbols, operations of a transistor or opamp. You should be familiar with microcontrollers and you should also be familiar with various standards (low voltage, safety, EMC).
