Tom Devaney in the Galway office of CareerWise Recruitment requires a Sustaining Electronic Engineer for our Galway client.

THE ROLE:

*Provide Electronic Engineering support to sustain Electro/Mechanical products over the lifetime of the products from NPI to product retirement.

*Design, verify, validate and implement product improvements brought about by changes to electronic sub-assemblies.

*Maintain the integrity and safety of medical equipment with high electronic content.

*Troubleshoot and resolve PCBA issues as they arise in the field or in production.

*Identify alternatives for obsolete/allocated electronic components.

*Lead and participate in global cross functional engineering teams to support our organization.

*Contribute to Six-Sigma, Lean and Operational Excellence projects.

*Perform operations in accordance with established safe working procedures, regulations, standards and general safety rules ensuring that attention is given to special hazards associated with the particular area of work.

REQUIREMENTS:

*Degree in Electronic Engineering or equivalent

*Minimum 2 years plus relevant experience in product sustaining and/or development

*Your experience should have made you familiar with a broad spectrum of electronic sub-systems, ranging from:

*Analogue,

*Signal conditioning data acquisition,

*Transducer interfacing,

*Switched mode power supplies and

*Microcontroller/microprocessor based designs.

*Experience of working with quality system / regulatory requirements is desirable.

*Experience in:

*Circuit simulation,

*Schematic design and

*PCB layout is desirable.

*Experience with software particularly the language "C" is desirable.

*Fluency in French is an advantage
