Manufacturing Engineer - Kildare.

In this role you will be responsible for the maintenance and improvement of standards across all Operational areas covering Assembly, Warehousing, Fulfillments, etc.

• Initiate and implement proposals for efficiency improvements.
• Working with team to build effective culture throughout all Operations functions.
• Analyse and supply input for cost trend analysis for budgets, QBR's, RFQ, flex labour etc
• Continuous improvement / Kaizen, Lean principles and automation project work.
• Safety, Quality and productivity/ efficiency of cellular and line assembly operations.
• Responsibility for budgetary and cost adherence.
• Prepare and and/ or develop daily/ weekly/ monthly/ annual reports in line with business requirements.
• Ensure that all responsibilities are managed in an accurate, comprehensive, timely and controlled manner.
• Ensure continuous analysis of environment with a view to cost reduction.
• Perform manpower and resource planning.
• Drive and co-ordinate training of employees in line with business and technical needs.
• Develop and implement procedures, systems and technologies in the Supply/ value chain in order to standardise and optimise key activities.
• Demonstrate commitment and adherence to process and provide leadership through example.
• Provide regular management updates, reports and briefings ensuring that the status and effectiveness of the department is visible and measurable at all times. Ensure regular forum exists reviewing dept effectiveness, KPI's and process improvements.
• Stay abreast of trends in relevant industry fields.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience Required:
• Excellent technical skills
• Good written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to apply technology to solve business challenges and enhance effectiveness.

Knowledge:
• Ideally a clear understanding of the concepts, practicalities and theory of supply chain management.
• Solid understanding of operational management and the experience of working in an ERP environment.
• Good working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Principles, Six Sigma etc
• Empathy – awareness of people issues and ability to manage effectively in conjunction with HR.

• Demonstrated track record in process improvement and instinctive understanding of its value add to an organisation
• Good working knowledge of Quality management and have worked in an ISO 9000 company or similar
• Knowledge of relevant software packages and ability to apply technology.



Experience:

• Degree or equivalent in Manufacturing or engineering related discipline.
• At least 3 years experience in a similar role / environment.
• Ideally a clear understanding of financial processes and the interconnectivity between integrity in the supply chain and financial reporting.
• Ideally previous experience in demand management and forecasting within an ERP environment.
