The Client Social Care Workers required for new Residential Childcare Unit in Co. Wexford with our client, Daffodil Care Services.

The role will involve working with adolescents from 16-18 years approx.

Social Care Workers required for new Residential Childcare, Co. Wexford with our client, Daffodil Care Services, a leading provider of quality driven therapeutic residential & outreach service to vulnerable young people (12 - 18) in care & their families.

We are seeking to recruit a number of Social Care workers for a new unit based in Co. Wexford. This unit will focus on providing independent living, outreach and education services to older adolescents (16-18) years, due to move on from high support care and into the community.

This is an excellent opportunity to join an organisation which works intensively with young people & their families through a clearly identified model of care, where reflective practice is at the core of all engagements.

Supported by a multi-disciplinary team, our client provide care and intensive therapeutic support to young people with presentations such as foster breakdown, challenging behaviours, suicidal ideation, and substance misuse.

Job Responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities of the Social Care Workers include:

  • Under the direction of the Unit Manager, you will be responsible for providing high quality care to young people and their families, within a safe and nurturing environment.
  • This involves providing a high standard of basic care as well as working in partnership with families, social workers, schools, and others to ensure that young people's needs are identified and met, within a structured Placement Plan.
  • To act as Key Worker and carry out direct work on specific issues, as agreed in the young person's Placement Plan, whilst liaising with team members at all times.
  • To encourage and enable young people to make positive lifestyle choices, develop relationships, build self-esteem, and provide safe and consistent boundaries of acceptable behaviour.
  • Assessment of clients in the family home and report writing will be a key part of the role too.
Job Requirements

Previous experience 1-2 years in similar role is required in order to be considered for this position.
