Our client is a family run business that has been successfully designing and manufacturing specialist trailers and equipment for the road transport industry for over 35 years. An opportunity has now arisen for two Product Development Engineers / Mechanical Design Engineers to join their team.

As a Product Development Engineer / Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for new product development and the continual improvement of the company’s range of products.
Working with the management and sales team, you will ensure that high standards of customer service and satisfaction are met. You will review designs and update products in order to meet the required standards.
You will also create and maintain the technical design documentation and offer continued improvement of manufacturing processes.
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- Experience in a product or mechanical design role gained within a manufacturing or engineering environment
- An excellent working knowledge of AutoCAD and 3D modelling software, preferably SolidWorks
As a Product Development Engineer / Mechanical Design Engineer, you must have superb interpersonal and communication skills. A team player, you will be flexible and have the ability to work to deadlines.
Knowledge or a background within the trailer industry would be beneficial as would strong knowledge of the ‘Road Vehicle Construction and Use’ regulations. A degree in mechanical, electrical, design engineering or another related field would also be an advantage to your application.
