Our Client, a well-established and Fashion and Homewears Retailer are recruiting for an experienced Senior Store Manager/ General Manager to take over the running of one of their high-profile branches in the Sligo/Mayo area. This Store is a multi-million euro business with a large sales team, so previous experience of managing a store in excess of €6 million and a sales team in excess of 30 staff is essential for this role. A strong retail management background in Fashion, Grocery, Homewears and Electrical is desirable.
At present, this Retailer is without doubt one of most successful and stable Retailers in Ireland as they continue to rapidly expand their operations throughout all of Ireland. If you are career driven and ambitious to get to the top of the retail, then this could be the Company for you, due to many senior career opportunities in the Connaught area.
Job Description
The main purpose of Store Manager is to oversee and monitor the smooth running of the entire store. The Store Manager is held responsible for the overall performance of their store. Their main objective is to improve the general standards of their store and subsequently increase turnover.
Main Duties
- To achieve sales targets as agreed with Regional Manager
- To achieve a gross profit margin and net margin as agreed with the company.
- To control overheads as per annual budget.
- To ensure Management Team have been set targets on Sales, Gross Profit, and to agree such with them.
- To ensure Management Team are trained appropriately and to the highest standard.
- To ensure merchandising and presentation of entire store is of the highest standard at all times.
- To control Stocktaking procedures.
- To ensure Customer Care Service in the entire store is of the highest standard.
- To encourage a good working relationship with all staff and with local community.
- To hold regular communication meetings with management and staff.
- To develop members of staff and the management team through the use of appraisals, training and development Promotion etc.
- To manage and co-ordinate in-store and national promotions.
- To be aware and implement all information that relates to your store which helps to gain efficiencies in operation.
- To seek opportunities to develop yourself in relation to technical training and professional development.
