Manufacturing Engineer with medical devices companies - Supplier focus is essential
* Partner with the Supplier Quality Engineering function
* Lead Problem Solving, Failure Analysis, Corrective Action & Preventative Action activities with the Supplier. Promote a culture of structured problem solving with suppliers. Participate in supplier risk management activities (eg. PFMEA).
* Compiles project plans and coordinates project team meetings
* Plans and conducts engineering research and manufacturing engineering projects with suppliers.
* Request and oversee Process Design Reviews when necessary.
* Support product cost reduction and continuous improvement initiatives with suppliers. Provide engineering oversight, support and consultancy to suppliers on design for process validation, design for manufacture (DFM), material selection, mach inability and process development.
* Ensure the efficient and timely transfer of process knowledge
* Educate the suppliers on the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and support its implementation including Control Plans.
* In conjunction with supply chain, source and evaluate world class component/contract manufacturer suppliers and initiate strategic alliances.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
* Provide guidance and mentoring to designated individuals as necessary.
* Excellent problem solving & analytical skills
* Effective interpersonal & communication skills with an ability to overcome language and cultural barriers
* Strong project management capabilities
* Proficient PC skills.
* Ability to plan, organize, and implement multiple concurrent tasks.
* A Bachelors or Masters Degree in an engineering discipline. Candidates with an appropriate technical qualification and significant relevant experience will be considered.
* Minimum 3 years experience in a manufacturing or production engineering environment.
