Company and Role Overview
Our Client is responsible for global funding, financial risk, cash and liquidity management and treasury services for worldwide operations. As part of these operations, Corporate Treasury raises third party debt in a number of jurisdictions including Ireland. It uses these funds to fund a number of affiliates worldwide.
Responsibilities
· Manage a portfolio of intra group loans to company affiliates c.150 loans, totalling $55bn in value.
· Prepare Statutory accounts for several legal entities, under local GAAP and IFRS.
· Prepare Stat to GAAP reconciliations to support these accounts
· Prepare Management accounts and present to Board of Directors on a quarterly basis.
· Analyse the cost of funds for the external debt issuers and recommend actions to ensure the stability and profitability of the entities.
· Analyse and forecast balance sheet and profitability using trends and available data and report this to the Board of Directors.
· Ensure all fixed rate lending and borrowings are appropriately hedged by executing interest rate swaps.
· Prepare and maintain hedge documentation where required.
· Carry out hedge effectiveness testing and valuations in line with IAS39 and IFRS9.
· Drive enhancements in the processes.
· Ensure all lending is appropriately priced and agreed with the Transfer Pricing Team
· Documenting and ensuring that all SOX requirements are met for Euro & Sterling debt issues
· Prepare local Corporation tax computations.
· Support controllership and corporate tax objectives as required.
· Ad-hoc project work as required
Qualifications & Experience
· Bachelor’s Degree in business, commerce or related field.
· Qualification as chartered or certified accountant.
· Prior work experience in a Treasury function preferred
· Strong analytical, problem solving skills
· Practical Knowledge of IAS/IFRS as it relates to hedge accounting and interest rate derivatives.
· Some interest rate gap management experience.
· Strong interpersonal & communication skills.
· Ability to convey complex or technical information to team leaders and partners with limited subject matter expertise.
· Ability to work alone and as part of a team.
