We are currently recruiting an Engineering Project Manager based in Cork.
Job Purpose:
The position will involve the management of the delivery of new business systems to the Operational and Engineering function within the company. This role will have responsibility for the development of new standards and processes for Technology Development and the implementation of those across the Engineering, Science and Technology Function. From a Business System perspective, this role will take responsibility for the development, implementation and roll out of MD&D Business Systems for Engineering Function across the company. You will report to the Team Leader/Staff Engineer.
Responsibilities:
· Development and implementation of Advanced Business Systems for the Engineering Function across the company, including, but not limited to the following:
o Project / Program Management
o Engineering Metrics
o Value Improvement Process
o Technology Roadmaps
o Engineering Playbooks
o Knowledge Transfer
o Capital Management
o Resource Management
o Idea generation and management
o Root cause analysis
o CIP Tracking and Management
· Integration with MD&D Systems Group to ensure alignment and standardization of “Best in Class” Business Systems
· Development of Cross Site Team to Develop and Implement Business Systems
· Development of virtual teams to manage core competencies.
· Continuous Improvement on “Best in Class” Business Systems, utilizing an iterative external benchmarking process
· Establishes standardized toolbox for engineering methods / approaches.
· Lead focus workout sessions to identify projects against the business goal and gather any other ideas that could drive additional benefits to the site.
· Provide the Engineering leadership team with consolidated reporting across the cluster.
· Works with stakeholder to define project plan and expectations, approve charter, and make commitment with Finance for the Business Plan.
· Business Results is acknowledged as a subject matter expert in a relevant technical field and influences associated site-wide technology planning
· Provides guidance to product and technology teams
· Implement Company Business Plan Objectives & strive to exceed Business results
· Identify capital spend and budget requirements for Advanced Technology Projects
· Provide timely and accurate central reporting on Team activities to the project sponsors and senior management.
· Instil and maintain a sense of urgency and customer focus within the manufacturing engineering team.
· Prioritize projects / tasks in line with Customer service requirements & strategy Engineering objectives.
· Act as voice of the customer.
· Collaboration & Teaming: Work with engineering managers WW to ensure consistency within the engineering function at a plant wide level.
· Management of Business System Team to clear and agreed metrics
Requirements:
· 2+ years experience in Science, Engineering or a related Discipline and a Degree in Science, Engineering or a related Discipline with Previous project management expertise on developing and implementing business, LEAN or engineering processes
· Strong business acumen and knowledge of functional responsibilities across a business and sector
· Proven Track Record in the delivery of cross functional projects
· Experience in multiple verticals across Life Sciences (Pharma, Med Tech, Bio) and MEng., MSc. or PhD. Qualified in Engineering, Science or related Discipline is desirable.
· Flexible work ethic

· Problem solving skills – To assist in maintaining project progress and on design issues.
· Decision Making – Required to make decisions on technical and management issues.
· Degree of responsibility – Must be capable of managing and developing the business systems team.
