My client is seeking a qualified and experienced molecular biologist for a 9 month contract in their state of the art, Dublin West, biotechnology campus.

To perform experimental molecular biology to support antibody engineering work in the Global Biotherapeutics Technologies group.

Within this role you will:

  • Follow established protocols to create, select and reformat novel recombinant antibody libraries for the isolation of new therapeutic lead compounds.
  • Participate in the discovery, validation and optimization of these compounds via technologies such as PCR, cloning, microbial cell culture, ribosome display and phage display.
  • Facilitate and assist with troubleshooting for method and instrumentation problems.
  • Facilitate and assist with laboratory investigations and corrective action tasks.
  • Maintain detailed and verified experimental records.
  • Ensure safe operations, attention to detail and good documentation skills. Adhere to regulatory and safety requirements.
    • To be successful in this role you will require:

  • Significant practical experience from industry in molecular biology, biochemistry, and/or microbiology.
  • Minimum qualification is BSc, preferably MSc or recent PhD
  • Working knowledge of antibody display technologies preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, team orientation, attention to detail, problem identification and solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Able to interact effectively with all levels of staff.
    • Demonstrated ability to contribute to the delivery of high quality laboratory research. Demonstrated ability to work on own initiative and proactively respond to business needs.

    This is a 9 month temporary contract, however as my client is expanding their workforce, there is potential that this position could become more long term.
