Permanent Job with salary in the region of €50,000 – 55,000 plus benefits and bonus

Eden Recruitment is working closely with a Software Development Centre based in Galway, Ireland which is looking to recruit a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer Lead.

Working within a fast moving Software Development Production team spread geographically across Ireland, India and the USA, the QA Lead will provide full functional testing lifecycle for various functional application initiatives for the Performance Measurement programs.

It is expected that this role will be varied, with elements of QA Strategy, Test Case design & development. The QA Lead will be expected to collaboration with development groups on test execution (manual and automated) and quality reporting & metrics.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Create test plans and corresponding test cases to ensure thorough testing of business requirements in a fast-paced Agile environment.
  • Test case execution, defect documentation and tracking, and regression through all system tiers.
  • Proactively communicate with developers and business analysts to resolve issues or questions pertaining to test creation or execution.
  • Identify and effectively document a suite of test cases suitable for an automated regression test suite.
  • Accurate daily status reporting with ScrumMaster, including issues blocking progress when appropriate.

Education:

  • BS in Computer Science
Experience, Skills and Knowledge:

  • Applicants must have a minimum of 6 years experience with the full spectrum of functional Quality Assurance testing and Systems development lifecycles.
  • At least 2 years in a QA leadership role.
  • Experience with test management using HP’s Quality Center including defect tracking, reporting and metrics.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Skill with SQL as a data mining tool.
  • Experience working with Unix.
  • Collaborative work style.
  • Flexibility to travel to the US (or India) as projects require.

Additional skills desired:

  • Experience with functional test execution using an Agile development methodology.
  • Experience working with an off-shore development and testing team.
  • Knowledge of the Financial Services or Mutual Fund industry.

IMPORTANT: As the job holder will become part of an International Development and Test Team (working within a remote team structure), it is important to note that the QA Lead will be required to undertake regular travel to the USA (sometimes up to 25% of the time).
