We are a rapidly growing company that needs highly motivated people to help drive it forward. We are currently looking to recruit an experienced Software / Automation Engineer to join our team.

Senior Software / Automation Engineer

Position Description and Responsibilities:

  • Develop Functional and Detailed Design Specifications from formal and informal User Requirement Specifications
  • Develop high quality right first time PLC and HMI code from Functional and Detailed Design Specifications
  • Develop implement and debug code with minimal impact to production operating under 24/7 environment
  • Debug third party developed software
  • Fault-find complex automation equipment
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of code developed by self or others
  • Work to tight schedules
  • Prioritize multiple tasks
Primary Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Develop, debug and validate Control System software programs
  • Analyse, understand, fault-find and modify software programs written by other developers
  • Ability to work alone or in Team environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to organize, plan and execute multiple tasks to tight schedules
  • Highly motivated self-starter
  • Ability to document own work clearly and precisely
  • Excellent communication skills


Other Skills, Abilities and Education:

  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Computer Science OR equivalent
  • 5/6 years experience working with automated control systems
  • Strong PLC background in Siemens S7, Allen Bradley ControlLogix 5000, APT, Pilz Safety PLCs and Intouch HMI software
  • Additional knowledge of laser, vision robot and RFID systems would be beneficial
  • Accustomed to working in a validated environment with strong discipline with regard to change control.
