Software Engineer - Web Application Front-End Developer - Galway The Toolkits Engineering team is part of Enterprise Infrastructure, Application Services (AS). It provides common frameworks and reusable components for Java, Web, and .NET/Windows to enable developers to create standards-based code and reduce time to market.
The Tooolkits team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer with experience across the systems development lifecycle to provide technical expertise, facilitate system design, conduct research and evaluation on technical topics and build high quality solutions. The right candidate will possess knowledge and experience in web application development, including:
Front-end development including HTML5, JavaScript, FLASH and have familiarity with popular toolkits, such as DOJO, JQuery, GWT. Mid-tier application development on top of JVM runtime. The right candidate will demonstrate knowledge of industry standard open source frameworks, such as Spring, iBatis, Apache, JBoss and will demonstrate knowledge and experience, developing in the server environment. Basic knowledge of Database technologies (preferably Oracle). Should demonstrate an ability to design and code database applications in both ORM/SQL and ORM/Stored Procedures methods. This position is for a senior associate to join our Ireland team in developing and supporting key technologies and critical applications. The successful candidate must have the ability to work closely with a diverse team of software engineers and business partners in a multi-national, geographically distributed environment. They should be an excellent communicator - both verbal and written.
Job Responsibilities:
Provide expertise and guidance to the Fidelity web application development community on front-end development. Contribute to the Toolkits strategy on tool development in this space. Front-end UI design and development on the IT Asset Management Portal, a custom Fidelity application Provide user support of the Rich Client Toolkit (RCT) General Experience & Knowledge:
Bachelor level degree in Computer Science, Engineering or other technical field. At least five years' experience of enterprise web application development. Strong UI design and development skills and knowledge of the latest tools and technologies. Experience with the following technologies: Javascript, HTML5, DOJO, Java, Spring Databases and SQL Experience with Agile development practices. Strong analysis and written documentation skills. Strong problem solving skills.
Experience with the following tools, technologies and practices are desirable but not required:
