This Technology Consultant (ATC) will be part of the Cork Pre-Sales team, and is specifically assigned to provide pre-sales technical support to the Inside Sales and Partner Support Center teams based in Cork.
The ATC will work with the Inside Sales people to help develop the most appropriate technical solutions to meet the customer's IT needs which typically includes Data Storage, Back Up and Recovery and Cloud Computing. All Inside Sales activities are performed in conjunction with accredited Partners ("Velocity Partners"). The ATC will normally work with the Inside Sales people but will also communicate with the Partners and occasionally with the end-user customers. The ATC will also help support other Sales functional groups such as the Partner Support Centre, Sales Talent Academy, Tech Refresh and Renewals teams.
Job responsibilities include giving technical advice, developing solutions designs, and providing training to Inside Sales and occasionally Partners. Also the ATC will provide technical advice and be a mentor to other members of the Cork Pre-Sales Team.
For this particular vacancy German language skills are required.
THE ROLE:
*Advise Inside Sales (IS) in all technical pre-sales support functions, providing technical advice to IS and Partners on the best solutions to fit customer requirements.
*Develop and Respond to RFP's as requested from Partners and Inside Sales Reps
*Mentor and assist other team members in resolving ongoing cases
*Answer ad-hoc technical questions from IS and Partners.
*Prepare documents such as configurations, quotes, architectures, customer Q&A, and additional account information in support of IS and Partner bids.
*Provide quoting, pricing and discount levels as agreed with District Managers
*Prepare detailed topologies and architectures of customer site, before and after proposed new solutions
*Provide demos of products through Live Meeting and similar on-line tools
*Work with Inside Sales Account Managers on conference calls primarily using English an German languages, to support the sale and to help the IS Reps become technically proficient
*Deliver technical training to IS, Sales Talent Academy, Partner Support Centre and Partners as required.
*Deliver training on how to use the quoting tools (Channel Xpress (CXP) and Direct Xpress (DXP))
*Assist the Partner Support Centre in resolving Partner CXP configuration issues
*Be available for Inside Sales people to answer live customer questions in the office
*Report to senior management on all technical support activities and issues for IS.
REQUIREMENTS:
*Bachelors Technical (or equivalent)
*4 - 6 Years post qualification experience in an IT technical role
oTypically network or systems administrator or similar
oIdeally with strong server (Windows, UNIX or Linux),
*ISM Qualification (Information Storage and Management)
*Storage experience (SAN and/or NAS)
*Backup and Recovery knowledge/experience
*Cloud Computing knowledge
*Training and Presentation skills
*Strong communications skills
*Good organization and time management skills
*Language - For this particular vacancy German language skills are required.
