Superquinn is Irelands leading fresh food supermarket with 24 stores nationwide. We are currently looking to recruit experienced innovative Buyers to work in our support office based in Lucan, Co Dublin.

The purpose of the role is to work in a highly motivated buying team, to optimize the sales and profit of all ranges through product innovation, business differentiation, negotiation and analysis.

Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Working with the senior buyer to optimize the sales and profit return from your category through achieving operational excellence, sourcing interesting products, and negotiating the best possible terms from suppliers.
  • Develop a quality range that clearly differentiates us in the market place and is interesting and exciting to our customers.
  • Consolidate our supply base and negotiate the very best possible terms for supply.
  • Ensure promotional calendar drives sales and margin and is planned well in advance.
  • Work closely with the distribution centre, store operations and suppliers to minimize waste, markdown and shrink.
  • Development and documentation of best handling and merchandising techniques for your category.
The successful candidate will possess the following:

  • 3rd level qualification in Business, Marketing or related discipline.
  • Previous Buying experience essential
  • Highly numerate and analytical with ability to interpret data.
  • Be Results orientated & have an appetite for hard work.
