Supplier Quality Engineer - China.

Our technology client has a requirement for a Supplier Quality Engineer in China.

The contract duration will most likely be 1-2 years although this is open to discussion). and candidates will be provided with a very good relocation package.

Job description/Overview:

Manufacturing and Quality Engineering support for cables and connectors.

Chinese is a distinct advanage but not essential.

This position requires that the candidate reside in Southern or Northern China with efficient and frequent access to supplier locations in Shenzhen, Donghuan, Kunshan, Shanghai and remote location areas.

This position primarily involves manufacturing process engineering support at supplier sites as well as quality engineering support when issues arise. Other duties include, auditing, problem solving, failure analysis and issues resolution activities that enhance and maintain supplier-outgoing quality. This position requires daily communication with HQ via telephone and/or email and occasional travel (1-2 times per year) to the USA.

Skills Required:

Seasoned professional capable of presenting to senior level management at supplier sites.
Ability to perform product characterizations, process characterizations and manufacturing process flow.
Superior analytic and problem solving skills.
Superior computer and presentation skills.

Experience Required

A minimum of 10 years manufacturing engineering experience of electromechanical devices.
Basic working knowledge of mechanical design and electronics.
Familiarization with supplier auditing.
Experience with gauge metrology.
Experience industrial experimentation (DOE)
Direct working experience in process development
Experience in manufacturability of products (DFM).
Exposure to SPC techniques.
Demonstrated ability to work directly with suppliers to solve product problems.

Educational Qualifications

Minimum B.S. in Engineering discipline, preferably BSEE, BSME or BSIE.
Master's Degree or MBA a plus
