Overview


Person required to work within Transportation in the Logistics Department to manage Inbound Air Freight EMEA carriers. This position requires a strong knowledge of transportation and logistics and previous experience of vendor management.

Responsibilities


Manage a group of Apple’s logistic providers to maintain or improve service levels to our customers.
Maintain and monitor KPIs ensuring each carrier operates to agreed service levels.
Provide monthly management reporting by carrier.
Set up and manage weekly issues calls and monthly operational reviews with each carrier.
Ensure smooth execution for New Product Introduction.
Monitor Weekly / Monthly loss & damage for any trends and work directly with the Carriers to ensure adequate root cause analysis and correction action.

Manager Carrier performance on Milestone updates to Internal Global Track & Trace system.
Work with relevant people in relation to any issues related to the Asian product sources.
Ensure Carriers are hitting agreed lift capacity from Asia.
Review both Internal and Carrier processes to understand any areas that can be improved.
Execute TRAX exception report on a weekly basis.
Approve all manual invoices as necessary.
First point of escalation for all carrier related issues.

Skills & Experience


Min 5 years experience of supplier/carrier management essential including a period in a similar role.
Problem solving techniques required.
Good knowledge of road / air transportation and logistics concepts.
Ability to work well under pressure, multitask.
Self starter that can work on their own initiative.
Good communicator at all levels both verbal and written, internal and external.
Works well within a team and understands team dynamics.
Flexibility - must be able to work as required to fulfill business needs.
Good understanding of all Microsoft Office packages.
