We are recruiting for a SNR C Software Engineer (Hungary).

Position

The role involves development for a number of our DataMan ID readers. These are embedded systems, based on complex electronics with integrated optics, lighting, and networking. The existing platforms are based on DSP modules from Texas Instruments, and most of the software development takes place using the embedded development environment Code Composer Studio. Tasks performed in this job include:

  • Work on implementing communication protocols, internal data handling and management and means of configuring devices
  • Help develop or modify overall application software framework, suitable for running on an embedded system
  • Writing device drivers and other firmware in control of custom hardware (cameras, USB, Ethernet, I/O, power management, lighting, etc.)
  • Integrate low-level hardware control into device framework


This position requires occasional travel toGermanyandUSA.

Required Profile

Required qualifications and experience:

Engineering degree in computer science or electrical engineering or equivalent.

2-to-10 years of experience in the following areas:

  • Experience developing C software for DSP based embedded systems
  • Skills in global software design and architecture
  • Experience with professional team software programming projects (development processes, source code control, formal bug tracking, etc.)
Additional experience that would be helpful:

  • Experience with device drivers and low level system programming
  • Experience with the system development tool Code Composer Studio (Texas Instruments)
  • Experience in writing and working with software unit tests
  • Project management capability or previous experience
Languages:

Professional use of English is mandatory (both spoken and written). Ability to speak German is helpful.

Personal qualities:

Team player and ability to work on multi-site development projects (Hungary,Germany,USA),

Self-motivated, and able to work independently

Good presentation, communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
