At this Senior Manager level, a number of years specific business consulting and/or industry experience in healthcare is required.

Deep knowledge of the health systems in Ireland (north and south) and the UK - structure and organisation of the healthcare sector (providers, funders, commissioners and policy makers), their key issues and challenges, and current reform programs in these jurisdictions. Knowledge of other health systems would also be beneficial.

Through your career to date, building a deep understanding and capability through your business consulting experience or working within the health industry (i.e. in health providers (Trusts/Hospitals, Commissioners/funders) in one or more of the following competencies is required:
  • Supply Chain & Operations
  • Complex Program Management of large scale transformation in the health sector
  • Structured problem solving
  • Finance
  • People & organizational change


As a Senior Manager:
  • You should have solid business consulting skills and an excellent track record of working consultatively on a strategic or operational level
  • In addition you must have a proven track record of outstanding performance and display a high level of people and business skills.
  • You will have an excellent track record of business development and sales
  • You should have delivered large scale transformation projects, managing multiple workstreams, and be comfortable leading and delivering major programmes of work.
  • You will be experienced in organisational change, efficiency improvement, cost reduction and have a track record of delivering change in a clinical environment.
  • You will be comfortable working on multiple projects, with demanding deadlines in pressured and challenging environments.
  • You will be at ease with a consultative approach and looking to reach your full potential.
  • You will have a track record of achievement in persuading clinical teams to adopt new methods and processes to deliver clinical services.
  • You will have experience of whole system healthcare reform and addressing some of the common challenges facing healthcare systems
  • You will be comfortable functioning at the highest levels of client organisations.
  • You will have excellent team building skills with a focus on achieving goals through collaboration.
  • You will have an extremely high level of energy with the ability to work well under pressure.



Experience of leading major programmes of work in the acute, community and primary healthcare settings, would be advantageous, preferably in the following areas:
  • Cost reduction and implementing Cost Improvement Plans
  • Integrated Care Pathways
  • Integrated Business Plans
  • Clinical Service Core Business Reviews
  • Performance optimization and operational improvements in Trusts/Hospitals (e.g. medical productivity; workforce planning; theatre utilization; bed management)
  • Integration and collaboration (e.g. mergers of healthcare providers such as Trusts/Hospitals)
    Social and health care integration


As a leader within the healthcare team, your role will include:
  • Directly managing and delivering client engagements, ensuring client satisfaction and project deliverables/client expectations are fully met.
  • Business development, building on existing contacts and expansion of new relationships in the healthcare sector.
