Finance Director
Responsibilities
Financial Policy, Strategy & Performance:
- Review, maintain and develop financial policies and procedures framework which support the Divisions business, commercial and strategic objectives, consistent with overall Group policies and procedures;
- Contribute to the development and ongoing review of the strategic planning activity of the Division;
- Provide relevant financial and general business input to the formulation of such strategies;
- Develop alternative scenarios and options to support the management team in planning for growth and profitability;
- Develop, maintain and review the Divisions strategic financing strategies to support short, mid and long term growth plans;
- Contribute proactively to continuous improvement in the Divisions operational services in terms of operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
BusinessPlanning& Control:
- Provide support, as appropriate to the management team in the development of business plans to achieve the Divisions strategic objectives;
- Develop appropriate planning and review templates to support this activity and train business managers in their use and application;
- Ensure that adequate tracking and reporting systems are in place to monitor progress on the execution of business plans, and devise and agree clear procedures for their deployment in the Division and across it varied Business Units;
- Support decision-making through the collaborative development of business models and plans.
Budgeting & Forecasting:
- Develop, maintain and review the overall system for budget development, reporting and control;
- Provide support, advice and guidance to the management team in the development of their budgets;
- Ensure that adequate tracking and reporting systems are in place to report on performance against budget; to explain variances, and to initiate corrective action;
- Provide systems for timely forecasting on budgetary out-turns and for tests and reports on the integrity of such forecasts.
Financial Analysis:
- Develop an appropriate system of financial analysis in order to extract and present key performance data on the Division;
- Monitor, analyse and report on KPIs including costs, profitability and other key metrics on a project, customer, location and overall basis.
Treasury
- Maintain effective systems for forecasting, controlling and reporting on cash requirements, and for ensuring the divisions compliance with credit terms and arrangements and Group objectives;
- With the support of Group Finance maintain effective working relationships with credit institutions in order to promote the Divisions ability to secure funds at optimum rates.

Requirements:
- The Finance Director should be professionally qualified ( ACCA, CIMA etc).
- Several years of related senior financial, administrative & commercially focused experience;
Relevant experience of strategic financial planning & implementation, and of managing growth & development; - Demonstrable track record in contributing to business development and the achievement of business targets.
- A strong commercial acumen;
- Generally accepted accounting principles;
- Computerised accounting programs;
- An understanding of relevant municipal legislation, policies and procedures.

- Time management skills.
